Ahhh, the dollar just decided to take a chill day.
If you missed the snooze fest on Monday â no big swings, just quiet before the storm of Tuesdayâs tariff deadline and inflation report⊠đ

But why so calm? Hereâs how we got here:
1/ Waiting on inflation
Markets are hanging on to the July core CPI data dropping Tuesday.
Why? Because itâll likely decide if the Fed cuts rates next month.
If inflation stays tame, rate cuts are all but baked in.
If it heats up?
Well, that could delay the relief.
2/ Tariff talks ticking down
The August 12 deadline between the U.S. and China is looming.
Everyoneâs betting on an extension (read: no sudden shocks).
Bonus: Nvidia and AMD agreed to send 15% of China sales revenue to the U.S. gov to get those export licenses through.
3/ What about the Fed?
Fed officials are nervous about the labor market, signaling openness to rate cuts as soon as September.
Plus, Trumpâs lineup changes could steer policy even more dovish soon.
4/ Dollar on the sidelines
With all this hanging in the air, the dollar index barely budged, staying just under 98.2.
Meanwhile, the Aussie dollar waits for its own rate cut decision on Tuesday â all eyes on inflation and jobs data there too.
So yeah, the calm before a pretty big week.

These kinds of breakouts tend to launch big moves.
The setup points toward $8,000 in the coming months â nearly 2x from here.
3/ The wild scenario â $20,000?
Every cycle, ETH retests a major low⊠then goes vertical.
It happened in 2017.
It happened in 2020.
This year, that retest happened around $1,800.
If the pattern repeats, $10,000 isnât far-fetched⊠and $20,000 could be in play within months.
